This was Curator Benny Meng's first visit to the Houston Branch School run by Sifu Brad Ryan. This visit focused mostly on private training on the VTM's Hung Fa Yi curriculum with an emphasis on Levels 1 & 3 using the Saam Mo Kiu philosophy of Wandering, Awareness and Focus. The majority of the Awareness and Focused information was tied to lively application and free skill development.

This Frienship Workshop presented an overall approach on the VTM's Hung Fa Yi curriculum with an emphasis on Levels 1 & 3 using the Saam Mo Kiu philosophy of Wandering, Awareness and Focus. The majority of the Awareness and Focused information was tied to lively application and free skill development. During this weekend, Curator Benny Meng continued to work with Sifu Dac Lam on the VTM Curriculum Instructional DVDs. Curator Meng also took the opportunity to take some professional photos for upcoming book and DVD projects.

Self-Defense for the Medical Professional
This was the first in a continuing series of workshops focused on self-defense for the medical professional in the E.R. Attended by 10 Residents and two doctors, this workshop introduced the Four Martial Arts Activities, the Four Ranges of Combat and provided an introduction to basic self-defense technique. A follow-up workshop will occur later in 2005.

 - VTM Workshop: Heaven, Human and Earth Three Connecting Bridges Fighting Application

This two-day workshop delved into Hung Fa Yi Wing Chun fighting application based on the unique philosophy of Saam Mo Kiu. Also known as the Three Connecting Bridges, Saam Mo Kiu will showed participants how to recognize effective training and efficient application through all ranges of combat. Participants learned what is meant by the phrase, "Maximum Efficiency" through an intensive, hands-on workshop.

 - Fourth Hung Fa Yi Workshop: Heaven, Human and Earth Three Connecting Bridges Fighting Application

Over the course of this workshop, Master Meng presented three workshops on Hung Fa Yi Wing Chun. One workshop was for Federal Judges in Rio while the second and third workshops were for the martial arts community. In addition, Master Meng also conducted four Hung Fa Yi classes and four Ip Man classes on the weapons for people going through the VTM's Ip Man Certification.
