Day Seven – August 9th (Monday)

Monday was a free day because the Senior Summer Camp did not start until Wednesday. I got up and did some personal training. I started by going jogging around the neighborhood. So far, the trip has been great. It reminds me of my trip to China to train at the Shaolin Temple in the 80s. Back then, I did nothing but have intense training and hang out with other martial artists, learning and eating well. The only difference this time is that the Temple is in Germany this time.

Sifu Sergio Iadarola came around 3:30. He’s a young Sifu with a lot of enthusiasm. He demonstrated Chum Kiu, Biu Ji, the Wooden Dummy, the Pole and Knife that he learned through the Wing Tsun system. He shared many incredible stories about what he did to learn/earn his Kung Fu under the Leung Ting / Keith Kernspecht organization. Sifu Sergio is not part of the organization any more.

For the rest of the day and well into the evening, Grand Master Hoffmann, Sifu Sergio and myself discussed and trained together; we were up until about 3:00 am. Even though this was his first encounter with the Chi Sim Weng Chun system, Sifu Sergio stated that the system is more practical and complete compared to what he had learned of Wing Tsun in the past.

Gwan Jong of the Chi Sim Weng Chun lineage. This is a very unique training apparatus for developing skill with the weapons.
