June 11-13 Dayton, OH - Instructor Training Weekend 1
 
This three-day workshop brought together all the instructors from the VTM Branch Schools for an intensive review of training methods and current research. History and martial arts philosophy lectures were interspersed with intense workout sessions. Each day was over 12 hours long.
 
July 17 Kansas City, KS - VTM Kansas City Workshop
 
This one-day Friendship Workshop covered the Wooden Dummy and Fighting applications from the Ip Man lineage.

July 24-25 Dayton, OH - Hung Fa Yi 11th Public Workshop
 
Presented by Grand Master Garrett Gee, this workshop was primarily focused on detailed information on the Faat Sau Kiu Sau training of Hung Fa Yi Wing Chun. Faat Sau Kiu Sau is an integral part in the development of Kiu Sau skills for students training in the Siu Nim Tau stage of the system.

Curator Benny Meng visited Germany to continue research into the Chi Sim Weng Chun system with Grand Master Andreas Hoffmann. Also during this trip, Master Meng presented the first VTM European Friendship Workshop, hosted by Sifu Klaus Filbrandt.

September 18-19 Phoenix, AZ - Hung Fa Yi 12th Public Workshop

On this marathon trip, Curator Benny Meng visited the Shaolin Oversea Temple in New York City and then the VTM Rochester Club for meetings and workshops covering the VTM Curriculum.
 
November 12-16 Rio De Janerio, Brazil
Sau Paulo, Brazil
- VTM Third Brazilian Workshop
 
Together in Rio with Sifu Luiz Pessanha of Grand Master Chan Kwok Wai's Northern Shaolin Kung Fu family and in Sau Paulo with Sifu Li Hon Ki of Grand Master Duncan Leung's Kung Fu Family, Curator Meng presented two Friendship Seminars. Curator Meng covered Wing Chun History, the evolution of Wing Chun, Shaolin philosophy as contained in Hung Fa Yi Wing Chun, Qigong, forms, self-defense and training methodology. This was the first time information on the Hung Fa Yi lineage was presented in Sau Paulo. The Rio workshop also included time to assist the development of the growing Hung Fa Yi Club in Rio De Janeiro.

November 18-22 San Fransisco, CA - TC Media visit and Hung Fa Yi Headquarters visit and research
 
On this trip, Curator Benny Meng recorded footage for an upcoming instructional DVD on the Ip Man lineage Wooden Dummy. Also on this trip, participants visited the Hung Fa Yi Headquarters and trained on the Biu Jong concept.

- Shaolin Wing Chun Workshop
 
This workshop covered the Shaolin Treasures of Chan, Health and Self-Defense using the Hung Fa Yi Wing Chun system as an example. By understanding the key nature of Shaolin, participants understood the concept of 'one system to counter all styles.'
A new alliance was put into place between Master Zhuang Hui's organization and the VTM in which the two organizations will work together on future projects.

This four-day workshop brought together all the instructors from the VTM Branch Schools for an intensive review of training methods and current research. Topics included: organization and business structure, teaching/training methodology, details of levels 1-3, Nature of Shaolin, Treasures of Shaolin relating to Hung Fa Yi Wing Chun, Taan Sau details in Siu Nim Tau and the Biu Jong concept. Each day was over 12 hours long.
