 - Third Annual Chi Sim Workshop
Presented by Grand Master Andreas Hoffmann, this weekend covered fundamental training in the Chi Sim system. Topics included 18 Kiu Sau, Fa Kuen, throwing, locking, ground fighting and ranges of combat. Throughout the weekend, each topic was directly tied on the 10 Wisdoms on Chi Sim Weng Chun and Chan philosophy.

 - First Chi Sim Instructor Training
Presented by Grand Master Andreas Hoffmann, this week-long certification covered Chi Sim training theory, application, forms, hei gung development, and teaching attitude in depth. The week culminated in an exam both physical and mental. Sifu Benny Meng was recognized as a Third Level Instructor. Two participants were recognized as Chi Sim First Level Instructors: Jeremy Roadruck and Chango Noaks. Three other participants require a follow-up exam to receive their certification: Tae Hayden, Steve Rudnicki, and Joe Ritz. The VTM became the first organization in history to teach three lineage of Wing Chun: Chi Sim Weng Chun, Hung Fa Yi Wing Chun and Ip Man Wing Chun.

- Grand Opening of Meng's Martial Arts of Eaton under the leadership of Sifu Chango Noaks
This event was the grand opening of Meng's Martial Arts of Eaton. With demonstrations, speeches, food, and recognition from the city mayor, Eaton welcomed its newest business with style and flair. Sifu Wayne Schulz brought down a group of his students to support the Grand Opening; each member of his team did a demonstration culminating in Sifu Schulz exhibition of iron body skills and breaking skills.

- HFY Special Workshop
This workshop covered the HFY Siu Nim Tau curriculum. This was also a chance for the instructors of the branch schools to visit. Participants included: Andy Kalish from New York, Brad Ryan from Texas, Joel Pryor from Michigan, & Savi Kruoch from Arizona. This weekend included three intense days of training and special sessions for instructors. New material included Moving Bong Laap Sau, Chum Kiu details and Wooden Dummy details. Other topics included history (Shaolin relationship to Wing Chun, Weng Chun and Wing Chun connections, variations of Wing Chun), Shaolin philosophy (Chan, health, fighting), and combat application (Kiu Sau, Chi Sau, Saan Da; HFY SNT, CK, and Wooden Dummy).

This workshop focused on Ip Man Chi Sau on Saturday and the Biu Ji form on Sunday. Special emphasis was placed on structure and energy used in both the form and exercises. Also covered the connection between Chi Sau and forms for structural development and the connection between Chi Sau and fighting.

Wing Chun Ranges of Combat and Strategies
This Friendship Workshop focused on the reasons for Wing Chun's emphasis on the Trapping Range. Context was placed on all four ranges of Kicking, Striking, Trapping, and Grappling in addition to strategies for maximizing results in the Trapping Range.
Chi Sau in relation to Combat
Continuing the focus on Trapping Range from Part I, this section focused on Wing Chun's main training platform for contact-reflexes: Chi Sau. Understanding the use and necessity of reactional skill was the focus in this workshop.

 - HFY 9th Public Workshop
This workshop focused on Chi Kiu, the bridge between Chi Sau and Kiu Sau in the HFY system. Siu Sing Tin Yan Dei was the primary focus in addition to the relationship between Deui Ying and Jeui Ying. The workshop also covered the relationship between Chan and HFY in terms of time, space and energy. Also during this weekend Sifu Chango Noaks, Andy Kalish, and Steve Rudnicki performed the Baai Si under Master Meng and Grand Master Gee, becoming 10th generation disciples in the HFY system.
