Two new articles by Benny Meng. Seven Military Science Criteria for Developing a Survivable Hand to Hand Combat System, and Misconceptions of Wing Chun.

New article The Holy Land of Martial Arts, added.

Sifu Moy Yat passed away this morning of a heart attack. The martial arts world has lost a Grand Master, a Teacher, a Philosopher, and an Artist.
Is with great sadness that I've come to learn about the passing of GM Moy Yat. I admired him for his accomplishments and teaching, being a Wing Chun practitioner and instructor from Montreal, I consider his passing to be a great loss for society and the Wing Chun family.

I hope for that, the future of Wing Chun, the museum will continue to propagate the Wing Chun tradition and teaching for the generations to come.
Sincerely Yours,
Mauricio Machuca
Progressive Martial Arts Institute
We know that words cannot console you in your sorrow, even when they are spoken by those who love you and share your pain. Please accept our condolences over so great a loss.
Sincerely,
Dani Hu and family.
Sifu Meng,

I've been away from classes for too long, and have recently acquired a computer. Today I pulled from my "system handbook", your website; and to my shock read of Grandmaster Moy Yat's death. Even with my limited knowledge and relationship with you, I was truly saddened and felt for you and my Sihing. My prayers are with all of you and I hope to see you soon.

Humbly,
Rodney Hasty
Dear Benny and all at the Ving Tsun Museum,

I have only just learned, quite by chance, of the passing of Sifu Moy Yat. I must say that I am truly stunned and saddened by this news, having only just a few days ago been observing the anniversary of my own teacher's death four years ago. I know how you all must be feeling because the thoughts, emotions and feelings that I had at that time are all flooding back to me right now as this news sinks in. Thanks to you Benny, I was privileged to meet your Sifu while your guest in June last year, and even though the time spent in his company was short, the impression was deep and I am truly having strong feelings of loss and sadness at this moment. No doubt you will not see this message until after the funeral services are over, ...I only wish that I had learned of his passing sooner so that I may have spoken to you beforehand so as to have you pass on my condolences to Moy Sifu's family, and especially to Miguel, and to have offered you some words of comfort because I know how badly I felt when Wong Sifu left us, ...so please accept my deepest sympathies, and at an appropriate time, please pass on my condolences to Moy Simo, and to Miguel and all whom I had the pleasure to meet last year. My thoughts are with you all and I only wish that I could be there to pass on my respects in person. May Moy Sifu be remembered always as one of the "Greats" in the Ving Tsun World, and may he Rest in Peace.

Your Friend Always,
David Peterson.

I'm a SIU NIN TAO practicer from the MOY YAT SANG family. Unfortunately i don't have the chance to meet Grand Master MOY YAT, because the last time he came to Brazil I'm even know what was VING TSUN.

I'm write this E-mail to show my respects to Sigung MOY YAT. The notice of his demise surprised me. A couple weeks ago my Sifu come to the MoKoow and related the state of the health of Sigung MOY YAT was not so good, but they have a hope that this state would improve. In respects to the feelings of my Sifu in relation to Grand Master MOY YAT, and thinking on this, I take one conclusion:

With the pass of time and the raise of kung fu life the ZEAL of the Sifu was slowing changing and became into LOVE.

Words about Sigung MOY YAT i don't have. But one thing i know, he was VERY GOOD on the WAY that he choose, and this is a only thing that really matters!!

I'm want to finish this message thinking that they want be read for someone, and this message translate my emotions about this fact. And I desire that the Pain of everybody is feeling be transmuted into energy to go on, because the road is long and hard and I'm only in the beginning.

"The good student will be happy thinking on the moments we spend together, the bad student will be sad thinking on the moments that he wasted."- Grand Master MOY YAT.

Dear Sifu Meng,
I was sadden at the news of Si Gung's passing away. But truly, his legacy lives on in all who have had the privilege of training directly under him or in my case, through you. Certainly, the qualities, character, that you have emphasized over the years reflects the true spirit of Si Gung Moy Yat. Please forward our condolences for myself and all of the student from the Akron School. If there is anything that we can do for the Moy Yat Family, please let us know.

Dear WC Brothers and Sisters:

I am deeply saddened by the passing of GM Moy Yat. We have all lost one of the first generation YM students. For those of you who don't know, Moy Yat designed much of the granite placques on the walls at the HKVTAA. Moy Yat was a good friend of my sigung, Ip Ching. We have all lost. Best wishes to Benny and his brothers.

Students & Friends,

On behalf of the Wing Chun Gung Fu Academy of Columbia Maryland our deepest condolences go out to GM Moy Yat's family and friends.

GM Moy Yat made significant and great contributions to the Wing Chun community. He was a scholar, accomplished artist, and an inspiring Martial Arts teacher. Many of you know one of his brightest students Sifu Benny Ming, who's efforts in creating the Ving Tsun Museum were assisted by GM Moy Yat leaving the WC Community a great legacy and tribute to its past ,present, and future.

Though there are differences amongst us and we all may not exactly agree on everything, there is NO denying this man's sincere contribution to our WC family. Please take a moment of silence to honor GM Moy Yat and his tireless efforts towards the promotion of WC but more importantly his efforts to pass on the true philosophy of WC and the development of great human beings.

To Sifu Benny Ming, our prayers and sympathies are with you and your loved ones.

Your Brother in WC,
Sifu Shannon J. Moore

My condolances to Moy Yat and the Moy family.

I only met Moy Yat once, but I remember well his and his students hospitality, generosity and knowledge of the Wing Chun system. On later occasions when I have met his students, I have always been met with openness, friendship and as a kung fu brother, which again reflects how Moy Yat was a Sifu in the truest sense of the word.

May his spirit rest in peace and his name live on.

Thor Legvold
My condolences to the Moy Yat clan. May he last warmly and eternally in our hearts and souls.

Hi Sifu Meng,

I would like to add a word of sympathy to those of my sihings, and express my condolences to you, your family, the VT Museum, and the world martial arts community for the loss of a great teacher and a great father.

It is ironic how Sigung used to encourage us to get something from his large collection of artworks, so that when he goes home, at least we have something original that we got from him personally. Who would have thought that he was about to leave so soon?

It is very difficult to even imagine what we are losing in the going home of that great role model. But let all of us rejoice and give thanksgivings for the gift of his life, his kungfu and his art that we all inherited, loved and cherished. Let us also pledge to be faithful to his legacy.

Much Love to all:
Leonard

Sifu Meng,

I send my condolences from Sifu Randy Li's school as well as from myself. Sifu Moy Yat was a great man and definitely made an impact upon the Ving Tsun community. His wisdom and presence is missed all the way from K.C. I know that you suffered a great loss but it's just a cycle of life that we all must go through some day. The news comes as a total shock. I wish you and your family luck and the extended Ving Tsun family from Kansas City will always welcome your needs if there's a favor to be done. The Ho Kam Ming family will continue to support you carrying on the great Moy Yat tradition.

Sincerely,
Dac Lam
Sorry to hear. My condolences.

Sigung Moy Yat was one of the greatest men I have ever known. Weather it was a conversation just setting at the school or just listening to him speak over a meal. Every one of his words held a lifetime of value and character. A lot of us got to see the "Grand master Ving Tsun " Moy Yat. But the loss is even greater for those of us who got to see the entire person the Grand master of life! My time was very limited with Sigung Moy Yat but in that time I have learned years of wisdom. Sigung Moy Yat will be missed by all who knew Him. Sifu my heart goes out to you because you knew him better then all of us on this list and none of us suffers a greater loss then you Sifu. please let me know if their is anything I or my family can do.
