During this trip three different families of Wing Chun were in
one place for a Friendship Exchange. Sifu Gee shared his Hung Fa Yi Wing Chun and also
gave each of us an opportunity to share Philip Holder family and
Moy Yat family Wing Chun with his students.

(10th visit) (9th visit to Arizona)
This was the first public workshop to feature Hung Fa Yi Wing
Chun in the 300 year history of this lineage. Material covered
included the Siu Nihm Tauh form, Sei Muhn Chyun Sau, Wooden
Dummy, and Phases of Combat. This event coincided with the
acceptance by Sifu Gee of two indoor students: Benny Meng and
John Murphy.
This event marked the second historic Wing Chun event hosted by
Sifu Richard Loewenhagen and the students of Meng's Martial Arts
of Arizona in their first three years of development as a formal school.

Chun" by Sifu Andreas Hoffman
This was the first workshop conducted in the United States
featuring the Chi Sim Weng Chun System and included a Friendship Exchange. This lineage
represents one of the earliest styles to identify itself as Weng
Chun in the history. This was the first contact by the VTM with
this lineage. In the future, the VTM will be hosting Sifu
Hoffman for a workshop as well as working to collect and publish
information on this lineage. Material covered included the first
form, Kiu Sau (similar to Chi Sau), and Saan Sau.
Also at this workshop was a demonstration representing 5 systems
of Kung Fu:
Jhee Shim Wing Chun, Hung Fa Yi Wing Chun, Robert Chu Wing Chun,
Cho Family Wing Chun, and Hung Ga.

This was the first workshop outside the Moy Yat family to be presented by a second-generation student in the Yip Man lineage. Sifu Peterson shared Wong Shong Leung's concepts on footwork, chi sau, combat applications, mindset, and teaching.
Sifu Peterson donated written materials and pictures of the late Sifu Wong Shong Leung to the VTM. He also became a Technical Advisor to the VTM

Peterson
VTM Curator Benny Meng took Sifu Peterson and his fiancée
to meet with the Moy Yat Kung Fu family in addition to site
seeing and shopping. While in New York, Curator Meng also
attended to VTM business. On Saturday, Sifu Miguel Hernandez
hosted a small Frienship Gathering at his school to exchange gung fu
between two different Wong Shong Leung families and the Moy Yat
family. Later that night, Sifu Victor Parlati of the William
Cheung family joined the group for dinner. Sunday included dim
sum with Sifu Moy Yat and several of his senior students -
Mickey Chan, Henry Moy, Miguel Hernandez, and Benny Meng.

Demonstration of Wing Chun (3 Major Systems of VT)

and "Hung Fa Yi Punch" by Benny Meng
These Friendship Workshops dealt with two different aspects of Wing
Chun: history and techniques. The first covered the
latest research conducted by the VTM into Wing Chun's history
through oral legends and records of secret societies. The second
covered the development and application of the punch as
explained in the Hung Fa Yi lineage.
An announcement was also made at the banquet Friday night of a
newly formed Pan-American Wing Chun Federation, created to
promote Wing Chun competition throughout North and South
America.
Curator Benny Meng was awared the USAWKF's Hall of Fame Master Instructor of the Year for his contributions to the martial arts community.
