Sifu Gee shared his Hung Fa Yi Wing Chun and also gave each of us an opportunity to share Philip Holder family and Moy Yat family Wing Chun with his students. February 11 -12	Akron, OH	- Professional Siu Nihm Tauh Video Tape Recording Akron Branch Club Visit (3^rd visit) This is the first in a series of professional video tapes produced by the VTM on the Yip Man System of Wing Chun. February 25	Dayton, OH hosted by:(VTM)	- 13^th Anniversary and Senior Class Graduation Workshop - "Ving Tsun System" by Richard Loewenhagen, Rick Howard, Mike Mathews, Jeremy Roadruck, and Dan Wells Of this group of distinguished practitioners, Sifu Richard Loewenhagen is the first to be recognized as a Senior Instructor by the Ving Tsun Athletic Association and the Ving Tsun Museum Branch School Gathering and Meeting This workshop was presented by the first group of students to graduate in the Yip Man System from the VTM.
March 5-6	Kansas City, KS hosted by: Randy Li	- "Yip Man Ving Tsun" by Sifu Ho Kam Ming This workshop was hosted by Sifu Randy Li of Kansas City. Among the topics covered were Siu Nihm Tauh foundations and details, punch details, and Chi Sau development Attended by: Curator Benny Meng, Mike Mathews, and Jeremy Roadruck
March 17-19	St. Petersburg, FL	- 2000 International Chinese Martial Arts Championship (view competition results) - "Wing Chun Punch" and "Wing Chun History" by Sifu Benny Meng The first workshop covered the Wing Chun punch from the Hung Fa Yi Wing Chun System. This information was later covered in an article for Wushu-Kungfu. The second workshop covered the latest research by the VTM into Wing Chun history. March 28-31	San Francisco, CA	- Hung Fa Yi Wing Chun (9^th visit) VTM Business - Technical and historical investigation of the Hung Fa Yi lineage and to celebrate Sifu Gee's birthday.
April 14-16	Phoenix, AZ hosted by: Richard Loewenhagen (VTM)	more... - "Hung Fa Yi Wing Chun" by Sifu Garrett Gee (10^th visit) (9^th visit to Arizona) This was the first public workshop to feature Hung Fa Yi Wing Chun in the 300 year history of this lineage. Material covered included the Siu Nihm Tauh form, Sei Muhn Chyun Sau, Wooden Dummy, and Phases of Combat. This event coincided with the acceptance by Sifu Gee of two indoor students: Benny Meng and John Murphy. This event marked the second historic Wing Chun event hosted by Sifu Richard Loewenhagen and the students of Meng's Martial Arts of Arizona in their first three years of development as a formal school. April 29 and 30	Los Angeles, CA hosted by: Robert Chu	more... - "Chi Sim Weng Chun" by Sifu Andreas Hoffman This was the first workshop conducted in the United States featuring the Chi Sim Weng Chun System and included a Friendship Exchange. This lineage represents one of the earliest styles to identify itself as Weng Chun in the history. This was the first contact by the VTM with this lineage. In the future, the VTM will be hosting Sifu Hoffman for a workshop as well as working to collect and publish information on this lineage. Material covered included the first form, Kiu Sau (similar to Chi Sau), and Saan Sau. Also at this workshop was a demonstration representing 5 systems of Kung Fu: Jhee Shim Wing Chun, Hung Fa Yi Wing Chun, Robert Chu Wing Chun, Cho Family Wing Chun, and Hung Ga.
May 1-3	San Francisco, CA	- Hung Fa Yi Wing Chun (11^th visit) Curator Benny Meng traveled to San Francisco with the Hung Fa Yi students that participated in the Jhee Shim workshop.

May 12-13	Akron, OH hosted by: Wayne Schulz (VTM)	- "Yip Man lineage Wing Chun Foundations" by Sifu Benny Meng Akron Branch Club Visit (4^th visit) This workshop covered the Siu Nihm Tauh form - principles, concepts, forms, and attributes, punches, stances and training methods. Attended by: Rick Howard, Mike Mathews, and Jeremy Roadruck
May 19-21	Dallas, TX	- 2000 Taiji Legacy (view competition results) - Master's Demonstration of Wing Chun (2 Major Systems of VT) - "Wing Chun History" and "Wing Chun Application" by Sifu Benny Meng The first Frienship Workshop covered the latest research into Wing Chun history conducted by VTM staff. The second Frienship Workshop focused on the development of the punch with body structure and applicable combat ranges as taught in the Hung Fa Yi Wing Chun System. June 3-4	Dayton, OH hosted by:(VTM)	more... - "Traditional Wing Chun" by Sifu William Cheung This Frienship Workshop, the second by Sifu William Cheung at the VTM, covered Siu Nim Tau, Chi Sau, Saan Sau, footwork, counters to grappling, and BOEC (Balance, Opening, Elbow, Crossed) concepts. Also at this workshop, a grand student of Sifu Cheung tested for promotion to the rank of Sifu.
June 15-16	Dayton, OH hosted by:(VTM)	- "Wong Shong Leung Method of Ving Tsun" by Sifu David Peterson This was the first workshop outside the Moy Yat family to be presented by a second-generation student in the Yip Man lineage. Sifu Peterson shared Wong Shong Leung's concepts on footwork, chi sau, combat applications, mindset, and teaching. Sifu Peterson donated written materials and pictures of the late Sifu Wong Shong Leung to the VTM. He also became a Technical Advisor to the VTM (articles by David Peterson)
June 17-19	New York, NY	- New York City Visit with Sifu David Peterson VTM Curator Benny Meng took Sifu Peterson and his fiancée to meet with the Moy Yat Kung Fu family in addition to site seeing and shopping. While in New York, Curator Meng also attended to VTM business. On Saturday, Sifu Miguel Hernandez hosted a small Frienship Gathering at his school to exchange gung fu between two different Wong Shong Leung families and the Moy Yat family. Later that night, Sifu Victor Parlati of the William Cheung family joined the group for dinner. Sunday included dim sum with Sifu Moy Yat and several of his senior students - Mickey Chan, Henry Moy, Miguel Hernandez, and Benny Meng.

August 4-6	Baltimore, MD	more... - United States of America Wushu-Kungfu Federation Nationals (USAWKF) (view competition results) - Master's Demonstration of Wing Chun (3 Major Systems of VT) - "Wing Chun History" and "Hung Fa Yi Punch" by Benny Meng These Friendship Workshops dealt with two different aspects of Wing Chun: history and techniques. The first covered the latest research conducted by the VTM into Wing Chun's history through oral legends and records of secret societies. The second covered the development and application of the punch as explained in the Hung Fa Yi lineage. An announcement was also made at the banquet Friday night of a newly formed Pan-American Wing Chun Federation, created to promote Wing Chun competition throughout North and South America. Curator Benny Meng was awared the USAWKF's Hall of Fame Master Instructor of the Year for his contributions to the martial arts community. This trip included a photo shoot for the front cover with magazine staff. The featured article will include information on the latest research on Wing Chun history by VTM staff.

Also included in this trip was more research conducted by VTM staff on the Hung Fa Yi lineage and participation in the opening banquet for the "Bruce Lee - A retrospective: A look at the man behind the legend" exhibit at the Chinese Culture Center of San Francisco.
