 - "1st
Annual International Ving Tsun Museum Workshop" by Honorary
Chairman Moy Yat, Technical Advisor Yip Ching, Jeffrey Chan,
Sunny Tang, Henry Moy, Mickey Chan, Pete Pajil, William Moy,
Miguel Hernandez, Curator Benny Meng , and Leo Imamura
This was the first official VTM sponsored event and was a Friendship Exchange as well. It featured
eleven Sifus of Wing Chun. This workshop covered two families
under the Yip Man lineage, presenting information on:
-
Formal Introduction, Banquet, and Demonstrations
-
The Nature of the Ving Tsun System and the Idioms by Sifu Moy Yat
-
Siu Nihm Tauh Principles, Form, Technique, and Attributes by Sifu Benny Meng
-
Ving Tsun Beginner's Foundation Exercises and Drills by Sifu Leo Imamura
-
Chahm Kiuh (Exercises and Drills) by Sifu William Moy
-
Biu Ji (Exercises and Drills) by Sifu Mickey Chan
-
Complimentary Exercises in Ving Tsun by Sifu Henry Moy
-
Nature of Chi Sau by Sifu Miguel Hernandez
-
Health and Fitness in Kung Fu by Sifu Pete Pajil
-
Wooden Dummy / 6 ˝ Point Pole by Sifu Yip Ching
-
Ving Tsun Fighting (Gong Sau) by Jeffrey Chan and Sifu Sunny Tang
-
Ving Tsun Fighting Techniques vs Fighting Abilities by Sifu Pete Pajil
For the Moy Yat family, this was also a historic event for
another reason. The above persons represent a complete listing of
the top people in the Moy Yat family. This was the first time in
the history of the family that all of these Sifus were brought
together for a common teaching purpose oriented to furthering
the development of the art. The Ving Tsun Museum committee and
its Curator made these events possible through sheer
determination and countless sacrifices of time, money, and other
personal resources.
Also during this seminar, on Saturday night, there was a reoccurring theme from VTM activities: the Friendship Exchange! This years event featured students and Sifu from a wide variety of Ving Tsun backgrounds talking, sharing and training Ving Tsun until late into the night. We had to stop the evening so that everyone that was staying at the VTM could get some rest before the start of the workshop on Sunday.
These workshops are available on videotape, please visit our gift shop for more
information.
