Rather than focus on what makes a program "better" or "worse", evaluate the goals of the organization. The VTM is a non-political organization looking to establish higher standards for all Wing Chun through education of the Wing Chun community on teaching methodologies and strategies together with access to a wide variety of information. The VTM program is based on the nature and principles of specific Wing Chun lineages, while also allowing room for an individual's expression of the art. All monies and profits generated by the VTM are focused back into activities to promote Wing Chun on a national and global scale. The VTM is a full-time martial arts learning institution with dedicated, full-time staff. Each year the VTM is involved in workshops, seminars, tournaments, and competitions across the United States. These activities provide opportunities for VTM staff and students to meet and interact with martial artists from all walks of life, professional backgrounds, and martial arts lineages. Through exposure to new and different points of view on martial arts, the VTM certification program can put the latest in training and exercise into practice.
