The VTM is currently offering certification in the Yip Man system of Wing Chun. The format of this certification is based on system thinking rather than focusing on one family's approach. The current VTM curriculum is based on the teachings of eight direct students of Yip Man. A well-rounded educational program is presented for certification based on the collected and codified teachings of Yip Man. Our comprehensive teaching covers history, wisdom, principles, concepts, methods, and techniques in addition to professional school management training.

The certification process is broken down into 6 levels with information available on or off site. All training, grading and examination must be at the VTM or with a VTM approved instructor. Grading and examinations will include oral, written and physical tests covering all subject matter presented in each level. Required proficiencies are available at the time of registration for certification program.

Participation in Continuing Education is required to maintain active VTM certification. This provides certified instructors of the VTM access to the latest information available from the VTM through interaction with many other organizations as well as maintaining a consistent approach to teaching and training. The VTM is the only Wing Chun organization to provide and create opportunities to interact and train with all lineages of Wing Chun. Lineages that have interacted with VTM members include Yip Man, Hung Fa Yi, Chi Sim Weng Chun, Yuen Kay-San, Koo Lo / Pin Sun, Pan Nam, and many other subsystems in China.
